Covid-19, What does that mean for UMB Global Programs?
As the University of Massachusetts Boston has moved to remote operations, due to COVID-19, the Office of Global Programs physical office will be closed. All advising and student/scholar support services will continue virtually, via email, phone or zoom.

The main phone line for the office, 617-287-5586, will be monitored, and all voicemails will be routed to the appropriate person.
Please note that the Office of Global Programs is currently experiencing a high number of calls, and emails, due to COVID-19. We will do our best to process all requests in an appropriate timeframe. ISSS E-form requests will take between 7-10 business days to process.

The Office of Global Programs is a supportive resource for international education on campus. We provide:
- International education programs, including study abroad for UMass Boston students and exchange programs for incoming international students.
- International community-building on campus, including events and innovative programs, such as our Global Ambassadors program.
- International student and scholar services (ISSS), providing visa-oriented advising, workshops, and support.
- On-campus international scholar programs, including our International Visiting Scholar Academy (IVSA).
- Support for global partners as they work to collaborate with UMass Boston.
- Resources for UMass Boston faculty, departments, and colleges as they develop new international programs, partnerships, and teaching and research opportunities.
- Travel information for UMass Boston students, faculty, and staff as they prepare for international travel.
