Umass Boston Summer Study Abroad Programs Cancelled
The Office of Global Programs has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation, and updates from local, national, and international agencies, concerning risk and travel advisories. The US State Department continues to hold steady at a Global Level 4:Do Not Travel, and the Centers for Disease Control maintains a Global Level 3: All non-essential travel to all global destinations to be avoided, as these are the highest levels both government agencies use, the Office of Global Programs in consultation with Campus Administration, has recommended that all Faculty Led and student study abroad programs, for the Summer 2020 be suspended. We recognize that this has been a stressful situation for everyone, and that many of you have already invested time and efforts into researching and organizing programs, however as the Global Pandemic continues and as the campus has not altered the international travel advisory from March 11, 2020, we cannot recommend that any students travel overseas on University sponsored programs.
We look forward to working with you, on future travel plans, once the Pandemic has subsided and normalcy returns. Until that time, please stay safe.
